Doors inside the house, for an access in-out of home, are important for us. Apart from the door is the door knob .We need to pay attention in choosing good door knob for specific door. Otherwise, it will not be durable and may cause the door to damage sooner. There are various types of door knobs .The design might look similar but there are differences. Let’s get to know each type of the door knob .
Before going to know each door , let’s get to know the materials of the door first. Brass, zinc alloy, stainless 202, stainless 304, are all resistant to rust. Let’s get to know the types of door knob . There are various types of door knob depending on the usage and beauty.
General door knobs such as house door , bathroom door , storage door ,all have locks and no locks. An Entrance lock cannot be locked, can only be used as handle. Cannot lock from both inside and outside. Suitable for extrinsic or open-close door such as public restroom door. As for home or bedroom door knob , can lock from inside and unlock with a key to focus on safety. The door knob has patterns and colors which can lock from inside and unlock with a key from outside.There are types of key systems to choose from: 5 pin, 6 pin and computer system, which has a higher security.
Types of Door Knob There are 2 types of door knob : With lock and no lock 1. Knob with lock Each type has different uses Knob with Entrance Lock When pressing a lock from inside, can use a key to unlock from the outside or rotate the knob from inside to unlock. Knob with Entrance Lock This kind of knob is special because it has 2 levels of lock. Similar to the first one, but this one has a rotating transmitter to unlock the button. When the door is closed, it will lock every time. To prevent forgetting to lock the door.
Door Knob with Vestibule lock must be unlock from the outside and lock with a key only. The knob inside and be opened and closed at any time. Door Knob for the hotel rooms , cannot open from the outside, must use a key to unlock only. When pressing the lock button inside, cannot use the key to unlock except for an emergency only. Door Knob for the classrooms , is lock from the outside and use a key to unlock. But the knob inside the room can be opened at any time. It has no lock button. Door Knob for storage room type 1 , must use a key to lock and unlock at both sides of the knob. Door Knob for storage room type 2 , the door outside is always locked and must use a key to unlock only. But the knob inside the room can be opened at any time. Door Knob for travel , can use a key to lock or pressing a lock button from inside. Unlock with key from outside knob or rotate the knob from inside or close the door. Can use a key to lock from the outside.
2. Door knob without lock The door knob that is popularly used to block rooms, doesn’t necessary need lock. There are six types. 2.1 Knob with no lock Both sides of this knob can turn at any time. Commonly used with door that doesn’t need lock. 2.2 Single sided-knob This knob can be opened from inside at any time, but always lock from the outside. To prevent people to get inside such as fire exit door .
2.3 Passage door knob (inside has a button for lock) When the knob is turned inside, it will loosen the lock. Outside knob is smooth and has no key. When the door is closed, it will loosen the lock automatically. It will lock again when pushing the lock again. To prevent an accidental lock when you are outside. 2.4 Dummy door knob This type of knob also has no lock. The knob is deadlock, used as handle for single door or double doors.	2.5 Door knob for bedroom or kid’s room This type of knob has a normal lock inside. Can open the door from the outside with a tip of tiny metal. When the door is closed, the lock button is released immediately. It must be lock from inside only. 2.6 Hospital door knob Can be locked from the inside for the safety of patient. When the door is closed, the lock button will be released and the knob outside also has an emergency open as well.
