Ventilation Fans
Ventilation fans are considered an effective option for ventilating the air in a kitchen and a solid choice for the ones who require fast air ventilation in their kitchens. They also exhaust unpleasant odors and transfer the air out of the house, resulting in much fresher air in your kitchen. Sometimes, when we are cooking, the smells may linger on equipment in a kitchen, as a result, when the kitchen becomes smelly all the time, it may affect your mood and make you don’t want to go in. Therefore, installing a ventilation fan is a perfect solution to get rid of the smell build-up in your kitchen. The ventilation fans currently sold at HomePro are available in various brands, namely Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Hatari, and more. There are 3 types of ventilation fans that are available on the market, which are wall-mounted ventilation fans, window-mounted ventilation fans, and ceiling-mounted ventilation fans. Each type of fan has different usages and installation procedures.
Wall-Mounted Ventilation Fans
Wall-mounted ventilation fan installation must be performed by drilling a hole according to the size of the fan. Then install the fan by facing its back outward and keeping the propeller and the on-off switch inside. In some cases, applications of grout or sealant may be required to finish or tidy up the work after the installation. The advantages of this type of fan are superior durability and a more aesthetic look compared to the window-mounted ones. However, its drawback is that they cannot be detached or are difficult to do so. Because of that, the wall-mounted ventilation fans must be permanently installed in the building. If the fans have poor quality or are easily broken, repair or servicing is almost impossible. The ceiling-mounted ventilation fans are similar to window-mounted ones but their propellers are partially visible and require to be installed on a ceiling instead of a wall.
Window-Mounted Ventilation Fans
The window-mounted ventilation fan installation procedure is quite similar to the wall-mounted one. It is different in terms of drilling as window-mounted installation requires drilling into a glass panel on the window instead of wall drilling. The wall-mounted ventilation fans can be categorized into 2 subtypes as follows:
- Modern Window-Mounted Ventilation Fans Fans and propellers of modern window-mounted ventilation fans are white. The appliance operation controls are available in a pull-cord switch and a control switch. Some models of the fans feature only an exhaust function while some feature both an air intake function and an exhaust function.
- Traditional Window-Mounted Ventilation Fans Fans of traditional window-mounted ventilation fans usually come in cream color. Their propellers are sometimes available in red or blue. The fans consist of 2 parts, which are a round fan body and a square shell. For installation of traditional window-mounted ventilation fans, the body and the shell of a fan are installed in the interior and exterior parts of a window respectively. The fans are operated by a pull-cord switch and offer both an intake function and an exhaust function. Traditional window-mounted ventilation fans cost slightly lower than modern ventilation fans.
